It has certainly been a tense couple of months when it comes to the current COVID-19 health concern, with plenty of uncertainty for a lot of people. If you’re considering building a home, you’ll undoubtedly be wondering how the latest developments in COVID-19 affect your decisions. Most importantly, our priority is to support you and talk through any questions or concerns you may have around the impact this may have on you. We’re using procedures and government advice to keep everyone healthy and safe during this time and will be keeping our clients in the loop as more information unfolds. For us, it’s business as usual, with a few adjustments…
So what’s our plan?
We have put new measures in place to protect our clients and staff and to do our part to stop the spread in our community. Including increased sanitation in the office space and on building sites, conducting client interactions via digital methods where possible, our onsite teams are working remotely and separately from our office staff, and social distancing is being practiced both on-site and in our office space.
We are executing the newest software allowing our clients to remotely select inclusions, digitally sign contracts & conduct necessary meetings. We will also soon be implementing 3D visualisation technology, allowing our clients to digitally select from our ranges and designs to create a photo-realistic version of your selections from the comfort of your own home.
It is also important to mention our team is continuing to work diligently for our clients and to date have had no indication that COVID-19 will affect the building process, supply, or build times.
Is SJM Property Developments open during the present government advice?
The shutdown of non-essential services does not include building, construction, and development sites. These remain an essential service. We remain open with additional safeguards in place to ensure your safety and that of our employees.
Is now a good time to build?
We are more than equipped to continue to deliver our usual high standard of work. In many ways now is an ideal time to build, with historically low-interest rates, a great choice of land available, access to top tradespeople, the ability to secure current prices, and avoiding the stress and pressure of building in a boom period when demand is high.
Will my build process be affected?
We do not expect COVID-19 to impact the building process or build times. We have been closely working with our suppliers to ensure products that are coming out of COVID-19 affected countries are available and will not delay the completion of our clients’ homes and will keep clients informed should this information change at any point.
Can I still visit the SJM showroom?
Yes. Our showroom is open by appointment only. Please call one of our friendly staff to schedule an appointment, we will, however, require only two people to attend at any given time.
Can I still attend my appointment?
Yes, you can. Additional safeguards are in place to ensure your safety and that of our employees.
Can my appointment be conducted online or over the phone?
Yes! Please call us and we would be happy to talk through this with you. We understand you may want to limit the number of face-to-face interactions you have during this time. You can contact any of our staff directly by phone, email, start a chat on our website, Webex, or Zoom.
